Sid Mofya is a member of Expeditionary's Advisory Board.

Sid Mofya is a Zambian-born long-horizon strategist and founder of MOTIF 54. With experience across venture capital, innovation, and resource-linked development, he advises founders, family offices, and institutions on capital, energy, and sovereignty, with Africa as a proving ground for durable systems. Beyond strategy, he is a storyteller and musician.

Sid also serves as a member of the Strategic Advisory Council of the African Diaspora Innovation Fund (AfDIF), an initiative by the African Diaspora Network (ADN) to mobilize catalytic philanthropic capital to invest in Africa’s social innovators. He has worked extensively across Africa, including as an investment expert advising the African Union on designing financial architecture for mobilizing diaspora capital into technology and infrastructure.

Sid is a Kauffman Fellow, with work focused on cross-border capital formation and the limits of Silicon Valley investment frameworks when applied to emerging and frontier markets. Previously, he was the Executive Director of the Draper Venture Network, leading strategy for a global alliance of independent venture capital firms—cross-border co-investment, fund architecture, and capital coordination across jurisdictions.
